A comedy club streams live shows to fans who cannot get a seat at the venue.
The comedy club sells out physical shows but has a waiting list of fans who want in. They set up a camera at the back of the venue and stream the show live on Lipatazama. Online fans pay KES 300 for a digital ticket.
The setup is minimal: a camera on a tripod at the back, connected to a phone that streams via WebRTC. The club now has two revenue streams per show - physical tickets and online tickets.
"We doubled our revenue per show by adding online tickets. The setup takes less time than soundcheck."- Club Manager, Nairobi
