Sunday Services for a Growing Congregation

A Nairobi church streams Sunday services to diaspora members who can no longer attend in person.

The Setup

When the congregation grew beyond the physical building, this church started streaming Sunday services on Lipatazama. Members in the diaspora buy tickets at KES 200 and watch live from anywhere in the world. The setup is simple: a phone on a tripod pointed at the pulpit, streaming through the browser.

Within the first month, they had over 300 paying viewers per service. The revenue helps fund church programs and the streaming itself pays for the equipment used.

"Our members in London and Toronto can now be part of Sunday service. It has brought the congregation closer together."
- Pastor James, Nairobi
